Giving Back to the Local Community

At Aspire, giving back to the community and supporting local groups, schools, and charities is at the heart of what we do. We’ve built our reputation as a vibrant and energetic social enterprise, dedicated to creating opportunities for vulnerable and socially excluded individuals.

We receive numerous requests for support from across Sheffield and beyond, and while we wish we could assist everyone, as a small social enterprise with a dedicated but small team, it’s simply not possible to accommodate every request. To ensure we make a meaningful impact, we’ve made the decision, with the approval of our Trustees, to focus our support on one charity or group each year.

Our chosen group this year is : The Sunday Centre

2026: A Year of Support for The Sunday Centre

We are delighted to announce that The Sunday Centre has been selected as our Charity of the Year. This year we are proud to support another small, home-grown charity based in Sheffield city centre. Like many other small, service-based organisations, The Sunday Centre operates without a steady commercial income to deliver its vital mission. It relies instead on funding, donations, and the generosity of the community to sustain its important social work.

For more than 25 years, The Sunday Centre has provided a safe, warm refuge for Sheffield’s homeless and vulnerable every Sunday – the one day when many other relief services close.

Based at Victoria Hall Methodist Church, the charity welcomes guests from all backgrounds, offering hot nutritious meals (with meat and vegetarian options), drinks, fresh fruit, and treats to over 100 people per session. Beyond food, it delivers something equally valuable: a genuine welcome, dignity, and the chance to socialise in a supportive environment. Our aim this year is to make a practical difference by donating some of our own equipment to help power their operations, generate additional funds, and raise the charity’s profile across our social and professional networks.

2025: A Year of Support for Reyt Repair

We’re proud to announce that our chosen beneficiary for 2025 is Reyt Repair, a Sheffield-based community initiative dedicated to affordable repairs, waste reduction, and skill-sharing. Their mission is to build a repair-focused culture that benefits both the environment and local residents while advocating for systemic change to support the right to repair. Driven by volunteers, Reyt Repair fosters inclusivity, empowerment, and personal growth, making them an essential community hub for both practical and social impact.

Our collaboration with Reyt Repair strengthens our shared commitment to recycling, refurbishment, repair, and reuse of discarded tech and electronics. Throughout 2025, we’ll provide them with essential electrical and IT hardware to support their repair services and skill-sharing initiatives. But we’re not stopping there—we’re also dedicated to raising their profile and helping them grow into a thriving, sustainable social enterprise, further embedding repair and sustainability into Sheffield’s culture.


2024: A Year of Support for Under the Stars

We’re excited to announce that for 2024, our chosen beneficiary is Under the Stars, a Sheffield-based arts and events charity. Under the Stars is on a mission to empower individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism through high-quality music and drama workshops. Their belief in nurturing talent and sharing personal stories through creativity resonates with our mission at Aspire.

Throughout 2024, we’ll concentrate our efforts on providing them with the electrical and IT hardware they need to continue their transformative work. 2023: A year of support for Ben’s Centre

Ben’s Centre is a Sheffield charity dedicated to supporting individuals struggling with substance misuse. Our collaboration involved providing refurbished equipment, mobile phone handsets, logistical support, and sharing technical expertise to aid their operations.

Our Commitment Continues

Our focus on supporting local initiatives doesn’t detract from our day-to-day operations. We remain dedicated to our refurbishment and recycling efforts, accepting donations of electrical, IT, and audio equipment, as well as bric-a-brac and homewares. Proceeds from these activities are reinvested into providing placements for marginalised individuals, ensuring that our impact extends far beyond our immediate partnerships.
