What we do when we recycle your equipment

Once your electrical items are received, they undergo a carefully managed process to ensure they are handled in an environmentally responsible manner. Here’s what typically happens to your electrical items:

Responsibly Recycling

Overall, our recycling process aims to maximise resource recovery, minimise waste generation, and mitigate environmental impact. By responsibly recycling your electrical items, we contribute to the conservation of natural resources, the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, and the protection of ecosystems for future generations.

Our recycling centre welcomes not only businesses but also individuals from the local community. Whether you’re in the midst of a house move, decluttering your space, or simply keen to clear out some unwanted items, feel free to bring them to us for recycling. Regrettably, we do not provide a private collection service.

We are equipped to accept a wide range of electrical, electronic, or IT-related products, regardless of their condition. This includes computers, laptops, monitors, cables, wires, and assorted components. Additionally, we can accommodate larger appliances such as washing machines, cookers, dishwashers, microwaves, and audio equipment.

There are certain items that we are unable to accept due to their specialised decommissioning requirements.

These include:

• Fridges (and their components)

• Freezers (and their components)

• Air Conditioning Units (and their components)

• Dehumidifiers

• Empty Toner Cartridges

• Fluorescent Tubes

• Nickel–cadmium batteries

• Nickel–metal hydride batteries

• Pressurised Bottles or Canisters

• Solar Panels

• CRT Monitors

• Other Hazardous Waste

Please note that we no longer accept clothing, fabrics, wooden shelving, furniture, glass panels, or mirrors.

In addition to electronic items, we also welcome scrap metal and a variety of other items commonly found in high street charity stores. These may include toys, games, bric-a-brac, tools, CDs, DVDs, kitchen equipment, accessories, ornaments, artwork, jewellery, books, and homeware. The possibilities are endless!

Contact us if you’d like to discuss a particular item.
